PIVX is using a promotional platform called Fancorps to let community member complete tasks. In return, you will receive points and credits. The points are used to advance your rank within the Fancorps community but the credits can be used to exchange them for actual PIVX.
Tasks vary from mostly liking, commenting, subscribing and sharing on your favorite social media sites like @Steemit, Facebook, Twitter, Reddit and Instagram to more elaborate things like "Participate in a sporting competition wearing PIVX gear".
Tasks require uploading a screenshot as proof and some tasks can even be repeated on a regular basis. The minimum amount of credits for a payout is currently 500 credits.
