If we give them the right direction and understanding of stuff in the early years of their life, they already have a lot of knowledge and exposure by the time they are onto something.

We are teaching these children by example. We can't just drop a ton of responsibility on kids, but from a young age help them to discover by themselves what they can do and enjoy doing it. A lot of habits are formed before three but character and personality is continually molded even into adulthood. As a parent I have had a struggle to really listen to what my children are saying. Not just because they are both speaking at the same time but also because I have my own experiences and preconceived ideas in the way blocking me from really hearing what they are saying. Mostly they are really saying, "I'm a kid and I need to be a kid."
