Kandinsky has been one of my favorites for a long time. His works are very spiritual in nature. I bet you could find more in Europe. I am biased because the Art Institute of Chicago was the first art museum I went to and as a teenager roamed around. I have a lot of stories from there but I don't kiss and tell.

Most of my family moved out of the Chicago area but if I had to choose one museum to visit again or to bring my children in Chicago it would be the Art Institute. If you go in the summer it's not far from the beach or the harbor. I would spend the morning in the museum and eat lunch in the park and then walk along the harbor and jump in the beach in the afternoon. It's a good place to grow up or go to college but I don't want to go back to live there.
