A hobby is nothing to brag about. It's something we like to do even though we know we may never be paid. We just keep doing it. Over time we get the hang of it and can do it well.
Naturally hobbies transform according to the materials available. What I always have in reach is my phone and my pen. This makes writing and drawing a suitable hobby for me.
I often draw scribbles and make characters and stories. Very few of them come together but I have bits and pieces of kimchi coming alive and talking and dancing and singing. I have a Koala family who love each other and seek the deep truths of life.
The hobby of drawing and writing is done on the subway ride home or during my break at work on the cell phone. That's probably the reason many ideas have come but few blossomed into fruit. Last year I put one story for sale on Amazon and had fun with it. The story has a powerful message. I was surprised this summer that after reading the free version my brother bought twelve copies. I think he was moved by these Koalas. The title was How to Catch a Virus. It deals with a family in the time of the great Conola virus. The kids were shocked that people were in Bent Ladders. They were so frightened so momma took them outside to catch the virus. In the end they caught something more.
At home I don't have any time for hobbies, but the kids are hungry and I like to cook. It take whatever is perishable and make it into something yummy usually by adding some tomato sauce and making a pizza or whatever comes to mind.
My mom took cooking classes in the community college and followed the Frugal Gourmet and Yan Can Cook and Julia Child. I just followed my mom. I grow basil and use it in a lot of my cooking. I keep my dough in the refrigerator for about three days after mixing with yeast. I don't have everything I want to do my hobbies but I use what I have. I want an oven than gets 500 Celsius. My oven gets a little more than 200 C but it's still pizza.
