I have never seen so many seagulls in my life. It's like the whole Island of Ulleungdo's population of gulls nests in these cliffs. I would be there now if I were a gull. The waters are prestine on this volcanic island. The island has its own ecosystem and mutant varieties. Raspberries have no thorns and flowers grow here that don't grow anywhere else in the world.

Wouldn't you love to be a gull here? The cliffs have been free from human invasion until recently. The island has had some troubles as kids went to high school in the mainland the human population was over 40,000 in the 1970's but has decreased to around 11,000 today. Tourism is the biggest industry and then pumpkin taffy. Construction is all over the island now as the airport and cruise ship port is expected to be complete by 2025.

It may be a good investment economically but a bad investment in natural protection. One of the most amazing places I have ever been to. Hope it stays wonderful.
