My Vibes for Tuesday come from the old neighborhood. I'm going to share with you some of the memories I had from the Chicago Blues festival. I grew up dancing in the grass to this music in Grant Park.
Today the park name was changed to something like Millennium park, but the Blues continues in Chicago. The Fest will be on June 9th this year. Nothing really seems to change in Chicago. It is too cold and each summer the Blues legends come out and defrost.
Everybody knows he's here with his black cat and mojo too. He's got one of those Les Paul guitars I see hanging on a wall in a guitar shop on the south side of Chicago. I still remember walking into that place with the dude and his Doberman sitting behind the register. He didn't have to say it. The whole environment was singing, "You better not mess with me. Wither by a guitar or get out."
In one form or another this song is played at the Chicago Blues fest each year. You can say all you want about Eric Clapton but all I have is respect for him. He shows respects to the legends like they deserve. He listens and he lets them play.
Buddy Guy's Legends opened up when I was in High school and has been a big part of Chicago Blues as much as Fitzgerald's in Berwyn. The song is almost as old as my grandma but it still rocks and Buddy Guy still rock's his legends.
I like to hear Lucile sing her sweet lullaby, but still the king cannot sleep even with that sweet melody. Oh, he can't find his baby. He can't be satisfied. It's three o' clock here in Korea and I can't find my baby. Oh... the blues got me on this one. I miss my sweet home that ain't there anymore.
Lucile sings again. She knows the pain and the sorrow. She was there at 3 AM when the sun was down.
I believe this is the end.
I want you to tell my baby
to forgive me for my sins.
These are my tunes and these are my vibes for a Moody Blues on a Tuesday afternoon.
