People do not devote their entire lives to good causes because they need some peace of mind. Problems with psychological health arise when insurmountable problems are focused on all the time.
Revolution is not something to wish for, the act itself causes extreme violence and it's consequences can often become worse than that it replaced. Blind idealism is reactionary, the longer people consider ideals before logic the longer we stay in ignorance. Ideals are important, but you must always remain sceptical. Personally I believe that reform is the first route that must be taken, if said reform fails then revolution may be unfortunately necessary. But you can't skip the step of democratic reform and go straight to violent uprising, unless you don't have the opportunity to vote democratically.
And I don't mean vote for the candidates, I mean write why the government is currently undemocratic on your ballot paper and send a message by the fact that you cared enough to vote but not for their crooked and no longer fit to purpose system.
There are so many standards to judge a person by. If we are going to pick only one standard, it should be how much time they invest to good causes. Of course a person is going to also have some time to work on their peace of mind as well.
