Kids being separated from their parents is atrocious, with serious and lasting consequences for everyone including societies and cultures as a whole. This is not to make excuses for Trump, but why does our media focus on this one aspect of our government's policies? How many are willing to admit both democratic and republican parties in the U.S. have been separating children from their families as a direct consequence of policies designed to advance or protect "America's interests" for decades?
We've made orphans of children, killed entire families, and turned survivors of our exploits into homeless, penniless refugees left with nothing in the world but the kindness of strangers or what they can grab or scrounge for themselves. How many Americans can really understand what it's like be on the wrong end of U.S. policies that were and are designed to make profits for Wall Street and corporate interests while they're heavily invested in the weapons industry as well as being invested in the corporations that ultimately profit from the resources we commandeer through our conquests or through the proxy fighters we train, arm, and fund? While our media has us focusing on Trump's policy of separating a relatively few children from their parents, our government conducts business as usual engaging in wholesale human rights and war crime violations. Tens of thousands of children a year come to the U.S. alone, and some of those are due to our policies in Central and South America. Where is the media and public outrage in proportion to all the atrocities we've directly engaged in or enabled as it currently continues in the Mid-East today?
