Will we retain a biological structure or will technology eventually take over?
We already see the integration of technology ie artificial limbs, hearts etc and I suspect this trend will only continue and accelerate.Pacemakers, titanium hips and hormone pumps are very common. Many people have a hearing aid that doubles as an I-pod and mobile phone.
Many interesting avenues to explore from here in regards to immortality and the soul.I mean how close are we to a synthetic brain coupled with a device that can reproduce the patterns and timing of all of the neurological activity that made each person who they are? And then, how do we transfer 100% of that recording to the artificial brain which will then pick up life where it left off, and carry on experiencing and interacting with reality?
