As a Filipino, I am really proud that our country will host Asian Games for this year 2019. It is an opportunity for us Filipinos to have international tourist come here to our country, not just to compete in sports but to see the beauty of our tourist spots. The government has really expressed support on the initiative of hosting this big event as it can help boosts the promotions of Philippine tourism.
In the process of preparation, there had been so many ups and downs but those odds have been beaten with the dedication and efforts of the organizers. Many artists passed their logo entries and carefully selected by the organizers to fully fit the theme of the event. A really simple and presentable logo was being selected and it was really amazing that it really represents both our country and its sports.
As we can see there had been many disagreements within the committee that almost resulted in possible withdrawal but thankfully their decision was reversed and continue to host the event. There had been a lot of issues in terms of budgeting as the allocated amount was cut which is a bit crucial for the sports funding. Again, a big effort coming from the organizing chairman to sill pushing through the event and finding some ways to secure needed funds from the help of several private sectors.
The Philippines prepared many big Stadium that could help accommodate many sports events. We would be expecting our President to be one to do the opening ceremony as it can help boosts morale of all the athletes especially the Filipino people. I feel so excited as the event is around four months to go.
