Until today, I take a side trip of a hobby shop inside the mall to see what's a new and popular card game. But it seems I always see some Magic the Gathering Cards as one of the best-sellers card game. There had been many expansions of this game and I lost track as I have longed to stop this game due to inaccessibility of playing with fellow card gamer and at the same time, the card packs are more expensive compared to the time it first launches in the Philippines where it is really affordable.
With the inflammation of prices, many of my friends too stopped playing the game as we need to purchase up-to-date expansion card packs to see to it that we are able to join tournaments. How I missed when I see one playing magic the gathering cards inside the mall or any place that magic cards are allowed. I can still remember that when it first arrived, I have zero knowledge about the game and one of my friends teach me the basic gameplay of the card game. It really interests me and I feel so addicted that I played the game every free time. I even leave school early just to play this card game which some of my friends actually do also.
As the game widely spread in the community, there had been some news circulating in local TV stations that Magic Cards will not do good to children and adults. And so, some parents do act quickly as they prohibit their children to purchase and play Magic Cards. That is the time when Magic Cards silently faded away at that time. But still, there are many dedicated players who still pursue playing the card game but still start to sell their cards along the way.
I still continue playing the card game for quite a number of years and joined some local tournaments. It would be a good exercise of the brain for me and it really been a good hobby especially when you have those rare cards and sets. There was that year that one of my friends tells us that he will quit the game as he had financial problems, wherein he will not able to purchase cards anymore. That is the time we quit also as it helps us realize that we too had that problem.
It was really an amazing experience that I had encountered such a wonderful card game.
