I was thinking of it more in terms of upvotes/downvotes, and therefore money. But you bring up a great point as well. Finding things through searching is not always easy when a bunch of non-related posts are showing up for the tag. I guess this is part of why I was confused, I would search some of these and the topics of the posts would be all over the place.
