The family gets a dirty look, and they quickly put it down. In the same token, it takes all my strength not to grab it out of a visiting friend's hand, so I 'sweetly' say:

Sorry, my friend, but that's my mug.

I can relate to that for sure. It's acceptable in my book for everyone to do so in their own homes.

What a lovely collection of mugs, and yes, inscriptions add a whole new level of excitement to coffee moments.
