The green and calm Krka river gently embrace the city of Novo mesto and create a very calm and peaceful atmosphere. Novo Mesto (literally means "new town") is located in southeastern Slovenia. A must stop when visiting the city is the ride with wooden raft, called Rudolf’s raft, on the river. The ride takes approximately 1,5 hours and is a very calm and relaxing journey. The local guide on the raft will tell you the stories of the city and his present and past inhabitants. From the river you will see the city from a different perspective and still admire some of the most charming views of the old city centre.
Take a minute to simply enjoy in the views of the city, the green lush vegetation on the river banks or in the playful ducks and swans that will accompany the raft.
During the ride you will be able to taste traditional local wine, “cvicek”, and the Slovenian traditional flat bread , “pogaca”. The cvicek wine is very special wine from Slovenia. It is composed of different grape varieties, both white and red grapes varieties and it has a relatively low alcoholic content.
