God is and has been God of covenants from ancient times to the present day, he has made promises from the foundation of the world for humanity to believe in Him. God has promised to forgive all our iniquities and sins when we return our hearts to Him. And in these verses that we read next there is a prophetic message by the prophet Jeremiah where he affirms that days are coming where God will make new covenants with his church.

Jeremiah 31: 31-33 New International Version (NIV)
31 Behold, days are coming, says Jehovah, in which I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.
32 Not like the pact I made with their parents the day I took their hand to get them out of the land of Egypt; because they invalidated my covenant, although I was a husband to them, says Jehovah.
33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says Jehovah: I will give my law in his mind, and write it in his heart; and I will be their God, and they will be my people.

There is a glorious promise and full of hope because God acts in different ways in his time and always shows that his last glory will be greater than the first one, because we can observe it in these words spoken by the prophet when he says: "I will make a new covenant in the house of Israel, "which indicates that every covenant of God is new in the life of the church, although He is the same his covenants magnify them every day because his mercies are new every day.

There is a new covenant in our lives and not like the old one that God made with our parents, because the prophet says that:
"Not like the covenant I made with their parents the day I took their hand to get them out of the land of Egypt; because they invalidated my covenant, although I was a husband to them, says Jehovah." This shows us that God is faithful and magnifies his mercy with his people every day to give us the opportunity to believe his promises.

However, God also gives us some guidelines so that his mercy and covenant can reach us, verse 33 tells us:
"But this is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says Jehovah: I will give my law in his mind, and write it in his heart; and I will be their God, and they will be my people" .

It is evident that for this to be fulfilled there is also a valuable rule to fulfill and obey and it is to renew our minds by living the word of God as a way of life that leads us to save them as precious treasure in our hearts to be able to be a people of God obedient to His word and his promises.
