What you write is so right, what you regret is that to be extraordinary nowadays, you just have to be fair to the customer (e.g., warn if you are late). Unfortunately, this respect in others doesn't exist anymore.
I hear from my acquaintances that the person contacted to go do the job (any kind of job) is no longer on call and leaves no message for a possible future call.
This is regardless of any individual's job skills.
