Tom Bearden had a word for what you are describing, Mike. I forget the word but the idea was a package of electromagnetic energy, shaped and configured to perform a specific function, that could be transmitted the same way as ordinary EM energy, on wires or wireless transmissions. He believed he had been attacked by them.

He used to warn us they were a potential attack vector we should be alert for. To a person unaware of the technology, these would indeed be like "demons". Or so he hypothesized.
the basic idea, I believe, is that the CSR contains a pattern in its hyperspace dimension, capable of interacting with 3space matter and energy in some fashion.
