Toxoplasma gondii is an obligate intracellular parasitic protozoan (specifically an apicomplexan) that causes toxoplasmosis.

Toxoplasmosis may cause flu-like symptoms in some people, but most people affected never develop signs and symptoms.

Some people, however, develop signs and symptoms similar to those of the flu, including:

Body aches
Swollen lymph nodes
Headache
Fever
Fatigue
Confusion
Poor coordination
Seizures
