here is how i was mistaken regarding Magnesium=Water.

Magnesium (Hydroxide)

Hydroxide is a diatomic anion with chemical formula OH− consists of an oxygen and hydrogen atom held together by a covalent bond.

Hydroxide=Water

Conjugate acid=Water
Conjugate base=Oxide/Anion
