Has, the "Global Village" made it easier, to succeed as a musician?
General and short answer: Yes!
For sure, there are a lot more competitors, but that you can recognize them now, doesn't mean, that they weren't there before.
If you are a musician, then there is no serious competition, right?
You want to hear, all good music, right?
But, you want to grab, the attention of a potential listener. And that's, what everyone else, want's to do. The competition, does not happen, between the artists.
Think about, all the music, you've discovered through the digital media. And all the platforms, you can use to let other people, discover your music. Or, the possibilities, to exchange and make frienship, with other musicians or producer.
Just avoid, the negativity and hatred, which is generate (especially in some urban "styles") by some labels and "artists". You know, that they are doing it, as a part of their strange "business - plan".
There is, a great community, of people which seriously like and produce music.
Just keep, a constant, output and you will be recognized, by people, who are "into" the same things, like you are.
