When you begin, to become a producer, there is (maybe) a moment, where you start doubting about your sound.
First of all, there is the technical side. Of course, you can improve your sound, if you will use a better and a, much more, expensive mixing - desk, a high - end effect unit or an microphone, which is handcrafted by fairies. And i guess, to own these things, are certainly, your future goals.
But, you have to work with the tools, you currently own.
If you compare, your music, to some major productions there is clearly a difference, beside some production - techniques. You shouldn't worry, to much, about that.
You can produce, results, which are more than acceptable and appealing, with the cheapest equipment.
Then, there are your skills and the level, of your experience. You don't have to worry, about the subject, that all the frequencies aren't at their best place and that your productions, don't sound professional, or how you can improve it, "that" little more and that you'll never get the master - degree in sound - wizadry from the magic - school of sonic - solutions.
I think, you'll only start thinking about a production as finished, if the groove is setted, correctly. And, that's the most important part.
If you begin, to tap your feet or start nodding, then your sound is very well.
That's an indicator, that you can serve it up, to your costumer.
It's a fact: If it sound's good, it is good.
