I didn't bury the lead on this one. The title of this post is the thought I have been considering for several weeks now. I'm in quarantine, like everyone else. My work is not demanding my full attention. My son is entertaining himself on the Xbox.
I have time. Time isn't the issue.
Maybe I don't have anything to post about. We're locked up, we don't do a whole lot, so not a whole lot happening to post.
But I make posts to Facebook. I don't earn tokens by posting on Facebook. So how is it I have content to share on Facebook that isn't good enough to share on Hive?
I think it boils down to a carry over attitude from the old way. Engagement was crap over on Steem. Why should I expect any better on the fork? It's essentially the same people right? I wrote posts over there to collect my auto votes and that was about it. I might get one or two comments if it was a particularly interesting post. But mostly it was just an exercise in collecting the votes that I had "paid for".
So I guess I need a little help from the Hive community. What is engagement like over here in this new land? Are there more people out exploring posts and making comments so we can have an actual conversation?
This isn't a plea for attention, or that I want anyone to try to convince me to post. It is really an honest question. Is there more engagement value here than we were experiencing in the old world?
