The postman has just been and delivered my latest addition to the garden
As you can see the seller has done a very good job in making sure the plant arrived in good condition, I purchased the plant from eBay at a cost of £6.95 and it was free postage
Now for the good part, the plant is a red abyssinian banana plant ( ensete ventricosum maurelii )
It arrived in a 9 cm pot and as we’ve probably seen the best of the summer this year I’m not going to plant it in the garden until next spring so I’ve repotted the plant in a larger pot and will probably keep it in doors over the winter period
This is my second banana plant I have here is the first one
Last winter it stayed out all I did was to knock four bamboo cains in the ground and wrapped some bubble rap around them, just like a small temporary green house it work well as you can see. Thanks for popping in cheers mike
