In northern Belfast you can find Belfast Castle. The castle was built in the 1860's and is now used for events such as weddings. Walking up to the castle made me feel like I was walking through another time period expecting to see a night standing guard at some point.
| The castle and grounds made a beautiful setting. I can imagine it would make a wonderful location for almost any event. | |
| I can't imagine any young couple that wouldn't want a fairy tale wedding that included being married in a castle. We were told that the staircase is almost always used for wedding photos for weddings held at the castle. | |
| Inside the castle had be brought to modern standards while maintaining that wonderful woodwork. | |
| Rooms had been set up as dining rooms but it looks like this room could also be set up as a small meeting room if needed. The windows provide a great view of the lawn and gardens. I do believe the fire extinguisher looks a little out of place though. | |
| The grounds offered great views of the city of Belfast and Belfast Harbor. Somewhere down there is where the Titanic was constructed. | |
| One more view of the garden. Isn't that the young Irish lass from the Dublin Pubs post? She's really not Irish, it's my wife. She is of Irish descent and could pass for Irish until she says something. American accents stand out in Ireland, especially one from Tennessee. |
There, @nananini, you know the reason that sooner or later I'll be back in Ireland enjoying that extended tour of the island. I'm sure we'll spend plenty of time in the area my wife's family originated in, once she finds it.
