Yeah the issue is the lack of competition.

Users can easily access their funds with any other wallet using their private key, but most dApps only have MetaMask as a way of interacting with them.

Many platforms have MetaMask as the only option for withdrawing, so users probably have their funds stuck in places where they can't get it out.

Of course, they can interact with contracts manually on etherscan, but that is way too complicated for the average person to figure out.

Especially with contracts that have 100 different functions, it would take forever and probably cost a ton of gas fees before people figured out the proper set of commands to send to the contract.
