Hello Steemians! Its another day to share some facts/traditions about Filipinos.
Since I was a child, I heard a lot of superstition. I know that its just speculation but I will not lose anything if I'll just follow and believe it. :D
Here are the top 5 for me:
1. Did you know that Filipinos believe that its a bad luck if you're going to sweep the floor at night and place all the dust/trash outside the door?
Sounds weird right? But I'm following that belief cause they said that you're rejected the blessings in the house if you do it. So if I sweep the floor at night, I'll just set it on the door side, move it to the dustpan and place it in the trashcan so that bad luck will not hit me. :D
2. Did you know that when you dream that you lose your tooth means a bad luck?
Yeah another weird belief right? Other said that you need to bite your teeth on a hard object for few seconds once you woke up to cut the bad luck. Some says that somebody will die if you don't do it. Weird but you will not lose anything if you follow it.
3. Did you know that Filipinos believe that if a person is reviewing something, the reviewer must be placed under his/her pillow for him/her to remember all the things that he/she has reviewed.
Hihi. Funny to admit that I also did this during my grade school. I think it worked but it's also mind over matter. :D
4. Did you know that Filipinos believe that you must not go to bed and sleep when your hair is wet, you might go blind.
I also follow this superstition cause i'm afraid to go blind. Haha! Nothing to lose if I will obey. :D
5. Did you know the Filipinos believe that if you drop your spoon or fork while eating, you must expect a visitor to come.
This is one of the coolest belief here in PH cause if you drop your spoon, it means that a female visitor will arrive but if its fork, a male visitor is expected. I remember when we're busy eating and we heard that something dropped, we immediately check what is it and guest who will arrive. :D
