Sometimes, we just need a short break to rest and see something new. I stayed for five days at Saekyung Condominium in Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City. It turned out to be the peaceful little getaway I didn’t even realize I needed. Let me share my simple but fun experience, from tall buildings and city lights to calm nights under a starry ceiling.

The first thing I noticed when I arrived was how neat and well-kept everything looked. The place has tall, cream colored buildings that look modern and bright under the sun. It felt like a small city inside the city. Right in the middle is a swimming pool blue, clean, and always nice to look at. I didn’t swim every day, but just walking past the pool or seeing it from above made me feel more relaxed. It’s a nice place for families, couples, or even someone like me traveling alone.

The hallway going to my room had a bit of a creepy vibe at first, especially at night. It was long and a little dark, and you could hear your footsteps echoing. It reminded me of scenes from mystery movies. But after a while, I got used to it. It wasn’t scary anymore, it actually felt kind of fun, like the building had its own story to tell.

I stayed in Room 802 on the 8th floor. When I opened the door, I was happy to see that the room already had everything I needed. It wasn’t very big, but it was complete. There was a stove, a refrigerator, and cooking tools already there. I liked that I could make my own food if I wanted to. It made the place feel more like home. One night, I even cooked some tinola with chicken and it turned out good.

One afternoon, I was happy to meet up with one of my friends who also lives nearby. We decided to go for a swim in the pool. The water was cool and refreshing, and we just laughed and talked like old times. It was a simple moment, but it made the day even better.

One of the best parts was the view from the terrace. Every night, I would stand outside and just look at the city lights. The buildings in the distance looked calm and bright. I could also see the airport, and it was so cool to watch planes take off. Some of them flew close enough to see the lights on their wings. I’d wonder where they were going maybe to Manila, Davao, or even another country. Watching the planes made me feel connected to the bigger world, even if I was just there on my balcony.

My favorite routine every night was turning on my small projector. It showed stars on my ceiling, making it look like space above me. The room would glow in soft blue and purple lights. For a few minutes, it felt like I was in my own galaxy. It helped me relax and fall asleep feeling calm. That little moment of peace before bed was something I looked forward to every night.

During the day, I mostly stayed inside or walked around nearby. The Wi-Fi worked well, and my mobile data signal was also strong. I spent time watching shows, resting, or just enjoying the cool air from the fan. Sometimes, I’d sit on the terrace with coffee and watch the world go by. Those quiet mornings were really peaceful.

If I could describe Saekyung in one word, I would say “comfort.” It’s not fancy like a hotel, but it gives you everything you need. It’s a great place if you want to rest, think, or work quietly. Whether you’re in Cebu for vacation, work, or just a short break, this place makes you feel calm and at home.

It may not be the most stylish or high end place in the city, but that’s what makes it feel special. Saekyung Condominium gives you more than just a place to stay, it gives you space to breathe, time to slow down, and views that remind you life can still be beautiful. Especially when you’re watching planes take off and stars glow on your ceiling from the 8th floor
