Yea, I still think it's too early to throw in the towel on PoB. We haven't really tried anything imo. Finding ways to monetize the content here is the most stagnated branch of development we have on Steem/Hive.

Developers have tried tweaking the blockchain code and all sorts of other things except actually building tools that help monetize the thing we're drowning in...content.

A few low hanging fruit examples would be

• A frontend design to easily allow tipping on posts and comments. This is not direct monetization but this would allow the token to stay in the system longer which is good for the value of the token. ie. It gives people something to spend their Hive on.
• A Digital Marketplace. Build something that allows each account to have a store and sell digital goods. In the design you can send 5% to the dao for example.

Those are two that I think are low hanging fruit because people have already built or are building some form of it or another, but most are centralized. I think we should create these in a way that's decentralized and benefits the whole system.
