At the very worst, all anyone can claim is that the science is mixed. It's a false narrative that's being put out there that that one retracted study was all there was on the positive side for IVM.

If we lived in a world that made sense, this would just be an open debate that scientists and doctors could have publicly without being ridiculed or having their credibility questioned. The way things stand, since IVM has a decades long safety profile, in the midst of a pandemic, if it even had a 1% chance of helping, it should be used since it's widely know that it's safe to administer up to 10x the recommended dose.
