It sounds like you had lots of fun even if you had trouble getting ingredients for your dish.
I love the twelve candles thing you did. It is important to be grateful and is something that I feel has been forgotten by many and replaced with expectations.
Being grateful we allow ourselves to appreciate the good things that have happened even if bad things have happened also. Where as expectations unless achieved only lead to disappointment.
