Titan Prometheus is the one who stole fire from the Gods and gave it to humans. As the punishemnt he was condemned to enternal torment by king of Gods, Zeus. He was bound to a rock where every day an eagle would feed on his liver and each day it would grow back. He was saved by the hero Heracles.
Prometeus today is a symbol for progress.
This is one of the myth and my favorite. 馃槈
