My survival kits and equipment / Meus Kits e equipamentos de sobrevivência
Today I took some time to review some of my camping gear, it's been a long time without me paying any attention to all this stuff I've been keeping in a backpack. I'm not sure what motivated me to do this, but after all these upheavals about wars, I wondered if I would be prepared if I needed to move to a safe place. I had a B.O.B. for this kind of situation that ended up becoming a backpack with trinkets of camping gear. Ultimately, a survivalist needs to be prepared for situations, as it's better to be prepared and not need it than to need to and not be prepared.
I don't have expensive or sophisticated equipment, on the contrary, some I made myself. I like to create some things because they come out the way I think is best and honestly for some occasions the space and weight carried makes a difference in the end and so I can guarantee that I am carrying equipment more effectively. Another point of doing some of these things is that I am able to maintain and even create in some situation where resources are scarce.
Before showing some of my humble equipment I also gave a review on the EDC that I use often.
This is a simple EDC from which the bag I made by hand, is about a span in length. I use it for small incursions in nature, walks or some trail, it's also with me when I go fishing that I come back the same day. However, despite being a simple EDC, I have resources to supply needs such as fire, shelter, food and water in case something unforeseen happens:
- Cutting instrument
- flashlight
- Paracord and waxed thread
- Mini fishing kit
- harpoon (I don't know the name of it in English serves to hook for fish or anything that moves)
- wire saw
- Lighter
- Plastic bag
- water purifier
In addition to the one from the EDC, I also always take a canteen with a metallic cup that can also be used to boil water or cook some food.
I like to separate some kits for specific activities inside my backpack and this makes it easier when I need to have quick access to something I need in addition to keeping everything more organized:
Fishing kit
With nylon, hooks and lead in addition to other small aid items, this kit is a good ally to get some food as fish would be the easiest source of protein to get in an occasion of need.
First aid kit
This is a mandatory kit in the middle of my equipment and in it I carry some analgesics, antibiotics and antiallergics, as well as other items that may be useful in a supposed need. I also have resources for sterilization and dressings.
sewing kit
This is a very simple kit with needle and thread. It may seem like an unnecessary kit but it can be incredibly useful. Imagine that the strap of your backpack tear apart and that would become an uncomfortable setback. If you have such a kit, you could easily solve a problem like this because you don't have any reason not to take it, it's light and doesn't take up so much space and can solve some important problems.
Hygiene kit
This is a basic kit with a toothbrush, soap, wet tissue and spare clothes and socks.
Kitchen kit
This is self explanatory but one point I would like to mention is the portable stove I made myself. A can with some holes and gel alcohol, this is very useful when you need to prepare some fast food. In addition to being quick and practical, it's a way to prepare something without drawing attention if necessary, as it doesn't smoke or light up as much as a fire. In addition to the stove, I carry a pan and some basic utensils to prepare a meal.
fire kit
This is a kit that I have some matches wrapped in cotton that were soaked in paraffin, because in addition to being waterproof, they ignite quickly. I carry other fire sources on the EDC and a flintlock that are not in the picture.
This other part of my equipment I have some items that I have available to take with me. It all depends on what my intentions are and not always everything is transported.
Tent, tarp and paracord for shelter and also some lighting. Maglite is great lighting and can be very useful for forays into a closed forest. I also have some lamps for lighting that is longer for the place where I need to be, in addition to other small flashlights for simpler things. A power bank to recharge batteries and also to be a source of energy for another flashlight if needed.
Okay, I don't carry all this stuff all the time. But I have a tool for every situation I need. What I use the most is the small combo with machete and knife because they are in the same sheath and this makes it easier to transport and a quick solution to cut something.
Although I don't use the knife as much, I really like the blueberry leaf. It's a handmade knife that was given to me by a knifemaker friend.
Each tool serves a function obviously and I would only take them all if I went for a raid of many days because it's not worth carrying so much weight for quick raids.
Well that's it for today. I rarely take it all with me and even though I've been busy lately with everyday things, I thought I should stop for a while and do the maintenance and cleaning of the equipment. It's nothing out of the ordinary, but it's equipment that is very useful despite its simplicity.

Hoje eu parei um pouco do meu tempo para dar uma revisão em alguns dos meus equipamentos de acampamento, passou um longo período sem que eu desse alguma atenção para tudo isso que tenho guardado em uma mochila. Não sei bem o que me motivou a fazer isso mas depois dessas agitações sobre guerras me perguntei se eu estaria preparado caso eu precisasse me deslocar para um local seguro. Eu tinha uma B.O.B. para esse tipo de situação que acabou se tornando uma mochila com bugigangas de equipamentos para acampar. Em fim, um sobrevivencialista precisa estar preparado para situações, pois é melhor estar preparado e não precisar do que precisar e não estar preparado.
Não tenho equipamentos caros ou sofisticados, pelo contrário, alguns eu mesmo fiz. Gosto de criar algumas coisas pois elas saem da forma que acho melhor e sinceramente para algumas ocasiões o espaço e peso carregados fazem diferença no final das contas e assim eu posso garantir que estou carregando equipamento de forma mais eficaz. Outro ponto de fazer algumas dessas coisas é que estou apto para dar uma manutenção e até mesmo criar em alguma situação onde os recursos são escassos.
Antes de mostrar um pouco do meus humildes equipamentos eu também dei uma revisão no EDC que uso frequentemente.
Esse é um EDC simples do qual a bag eu mesmo confeccionei na mão, tem por volta de um palmo de comprimento. Uso ele para pequenas incursões na natureza, passeios ou alguma trilha, também esta comigo quando vou para alguma pescaria que volto no mesmo dia. Porém apesar de ser um EDC simples tenho recursos para suprir necessidades como fogo, abrigo, comida e água caso aconteça algum imprevisto:
- Instrumento de corte
- lanterna
- Paracord e fio encerado
- Mini kit de pescaria
- Fisga ( para rãs, peixes ou qualquer coisa que se mexa)
- Serra de fio
- Isqueiro
- Saco plástico
- purificador de água
Além desse do EDC também sempre levo um cantil que tem junto um copo metálico que também serve para ferver água ou cozinhar algum alimento.
Eu gosto de separar alguns kits para atividades específicas dentro da minha mochila e isso facilita quando preciso ter acesso rápido de alguma coisa que preciso além de deixar tudo mais organizado:
Kit de pesca
Com nylon, anzóis e chumbo além de outros pequenos itens de auxilio, esse kit é um bom aliado para conseguir alguma comida já que o peixe seria a fonte de proteína mais fácil de conseguir em uma ocasião de necessidade.
Kit primeiros socorros
Esse é um kit obrigatório no meio dos meus equipamentos e nele levo alguns analgésicos, antibióticos e antialérgicos além de outros itens que possa ser útil em uma suposta necessidade. Também tenho recursos para esterilização e curativos.
kit costura
Esse é um kit bem simples com agulha e linha. Pode parecer um kit sem necessidade mas pode incrivelmente útil. Imagina que a alça da sua mochila arrebente e isso se tornaria um contratempo incomodo. Se você tem um kit desses poderia facilmente resolver um problema como esse pois não tem algum motivo para não levar é leve e não ocupa tanto espaço e pode resolver alguns problemas importantes.
Kit Higiene
Esse é um kit básico com com escova de dentes, sabonete, lenço umedecido Além de roupas e meias reservas.
Kit cozinha
Esse é auto explicativo mas um ponto que gostaria de mencionar é o fogareiro portátil que eu mesmo fiz. Uma latinha com alguns furos e álcool em gel, isso é muito útil quando é preciso preparar alguma comida rápida. Além da rapidez e praticidade é uma forma de preparar algo sem chamar a atenção se caso for necessário, pois não faz fumaça e nem ilumina tanto como fogueira. Além do fogareiro carrego uma panela e alguns utensílios básicos para preparar uma refeição.
Kit fogo
Esse é um kit que tenho alguns fósforos envoltos em algodão que foram embebecidos em parafina, pois além de ficarem impermeáveis inflamam rapidamente. carrego outros fontes de fogo no EDC e uma pederneira que não estão na imagem.
Essa outra parte dos meus equipamentos tenho alguns itens que tenho disponíveis para serem levados comigo. Tudo depende de qual são minhas intenções e nem sempre tudo é transportado.
Barraca, lona e paracord para o abrigo e também alguma iluminação. A Maglite é uma ótima iluminação e pode ser muito útil para incursões em uma floresta fechada. Também possuo algumas lâmpadas para iluminação que seja para mais tempo do local onde preciso estar, além de outras pequenas lanternas para coisas mais simples. Um power bank para recarregar pilhas e também para ser fonte de energia para outra lanterna se preciso for.
Ok, eu não carrego tudo isso sempre. Mas tenho uma ferramenta para cada situação que preciso. O que mais uso é o pequeno combo com facão e faca pois eles ficam na mesma bainha e isso facilita na hora do transporte e uma sacada rápida cortar algo.
Apesar de não usar tanto a faca que mais gosto muito da folha de mertilo. É uma faca feita artesanalmente que me foi presenteada por um amigo cuteleiro.
Cada ferramenta serve para uma função obviamente e eu só levaria todas se fosse para uma incursão de muito dias pois não vale a pena carregar tanto peso para incursões rápidas.
Bom é isso por hoje. Eu raramente levo tudo isso comigo e mesmo que ultimamente tenho andado atarefado com coisas do dia a dia, achei que deveria para por um tempo e fazer a manutenção e limpeza dos equipamentos. Não é nada muito fora do comum mas são equipamentos que são muito úteis apesar da simplicidade.
