I woke up gasping for breath
My clothes drenched with sweat,
I’m tired of drowning in that cold, vast sea
As always I uttered my short plea.
My dream’s so strange—I thought,
It always starts with me walking towards a boat;
Wearing this beautiful white dress,
As the wind kisses and caresses my flesh.
Sailed the boat under the moonlit sky,
Can’t explain the reasons—I let out a cry,
In a blink of an eye, I heard a song being sung,
The sweetest song coming from a very strange tongue.
Mesmerized. Hypnotized.
Whatever it is, I know I am jeopardized;
I kept searching for that beguiling voice,
Down the water, there he was—I was left with no choice.
He consumed and seduced me,
I can’t be taken away now—I can’t flee;
I took my shoes off to let the water freeze my bones.
Slowly, everything felt heavy.
I drowned.
I woke up gasping for breath
My clothes drenched with sweat.
