Another daughter has been forced down the ground,
What do they call it? Rape,
They implement the rape culture.
Another girl suffers genital mutilation,
It's violence against the girl child,
She shouldn't be sexually active, they said.
A 12 year old girl is getting married today,
It's child marriage, it's wrong,
It's our tradition, they said.
This 10year old girl is not in school,
She deserves to be educated,
A woman's place is in the kitchen they said.
Nobody sees the pains in their souls,
Only a few people know how they feel,
And a very few feel their misery.
A group to protect the female gender,
We are tagged "feminists" and "human activists",
But all we preach is "girl power".
There is no justification for rape,
No justification for tearing a girls life apart,
Men should be taught self control.
A girl has the right to her sexuality,
She has the freedom to sexual pleasure,
Her value is not based on her sex life.
Child marriage is wrong on all ends,
It deprives her the right to childhood,
It steals her right of making marital choices.
A woman's place is not in the kitchen,
She has the right to education,
She has the right to a bright future.
Let the girl child live up her dreams,
Let her bloom and shine of greatness,
Let her sore high into the world of freedom.
I belong to the female gender,
It doesn't make me less human,
I'm a gender of beautiful colour.
You know there is no excuse and so do I,
We must protect the girl child,
Stop all shades against the girl child.
