I actually preferred it before TV remotes. You always knew where the TV controls were. You didn't have to look for them, or get them out of some inconvenient place. They were always right on the TV. Now half time you have to go searching around for them just because most people are too lazy to get up and change the channel. Did we really gain anything by making it so people didn't have to get up and change the channel now and then? I don't think so.
