Bible confidently asserts that it is a sense of pride, perhaps in our reasoning capabilities, or a sense of 'not needing God' that leads many people to neglect or deny God. I have been there at several points in my life (even as a Christian). Whenever I feel self-sufficient I do not really seek God (A sense of pride that I can handle things secretly lures me in) until I have no room in my mind for God.
But this bible verse Psalm 10:4 is a wake-up call for us.
Whenever there is no room in your thoughts for God,
Whenever there is pride enough to not seek God
remind kind-hearted person, that you a going down a steep slope whose valley is wickedness.
