Hello steemers!

My name is Michael and I'm very excited to be part of this community.

So, I heard about steemit from a friend and it immediately stirred interest within my being. Very unsual, I must admit. Of course, I was swayed by the monetary benefit, but i write a lot too so I know that am definitely in for a pleasant experience.

Wherever and whenever i find myself, I'm usually drawn to make impacts, so I have no doubt that with your acceptance, continual support, and partnership, this community will not be an exception. We are going to steem it to the top!!

ABOUT

I am Nigerian-born and bred and, am the first child in a family of five that resides in Lagos.

As a teenager, my interests lied in unusual things; i recall how badly i just wanted to know how drugs work (weird right?). At that time, i had no inkling that my choice of course of study later on, would be in alignment with the obsession. Currently, I'm in my final year in the university, studying chemistry (BSc). I plan to have my masters in pharmaceutical chemistry so that I can finally begin to contribute my quota to provision of solutions to deadly diseases that threaten mankind's existence.

Hobbies

  • Singing and listening to good music; I am a tenor singer, i enjoy listening to Travis greene songs alot and I do enjoy alternative songs too

  • Exploring new knowledge- science, technology, books.

  • Watching movies- currently following the Flash series, Macgver, Arrows and Suits.

  • Travelling- I have never been out of Nigeria but I have always desired to visit Canada. Hopefully, i will, in this lifetime.

Values

  • Hardwork

  • Integrity

  • Honesty

  • Trust

..I am a highly result-driven person. Once I set my heart on something, I just want to have it done in the shortest possible time, leaving little or no room for errors.

...and lightening struck!

Growing up, I remember vividly how I and Noah (my younger brother) had to write at least two articles every weekend and that Dad (he's a chartered accountant and a writer) would sit us down to listen to his criticism of the articles. Although I always wore a happy face, deep down, i felt bad. Meanwhile, back at school, my English language teacher always recognized me as the best in the class in essay writing, so I could not just understand papa. As a matter of fact, this frequent criticisms caused me to detest anything writing. For many years, I lived liked this.

About 3 years ago however, lightening struck, i came into realisation of papa's genuine intent for us then. He knew we were good but simply did not want us to remain local champions, all he wanted was to groom his children into outstanding and scholarly individuals. Ooh, how i love Papa.

Today, I am a writer (its funny right,..what I was running away from) and by God's grace, I will make a pact for myself in this world. I will definitely leave a footprint on the sands of time.

On this platform, I would be dishing you succinct, yet helpful write-ups about life.
