Hershey • The Sweet and Mischievous Treat

Hello again this is Ryan and let me introduce to you today our five-year-old Shih Tzu named Hershey. Hershey acts like the male alpha dog but there are times that he is not. Sounds confusing right? Stay with us today and let me tell you more about our Hershey.

Last time I introduced to you Marnie our sweet little angel. Hershey is the brother of Marnie and his personality is very different from Marnie's. It fascinates me to see how the personality of dogs differs from one another. Marnie is very territorial and aggressive if there are visitors in the house. Hershey on the other hand is very friendly and would greet every visitor that comes to the house. He barks very seldom and always wants to play with new people. We joked about him that he is the kind of dog that could be easily stolen. He will let you carry him away with no resistance.

Shih Tzus are called "Little Lion or Lion Dog but there is no fierceness in Hershey. He only wants to play around and is always up to something. He can never be relied on as a guard dog which is the fact that we have learned to accept 😁.

Please excuse his appearance at this time as we haven't groomed him for a while now. My wife cuts his hair when needed but I want him to grow more fluffy hair. The Shih Tzus that we all know has long silky hair but our type has a thick double coat. If we let his hair grow, it turns him into a big ball of fur.

What does Hershey love? First is my daughter, he is very close to her since he was a pup and is always wanting to be near her. When my daughter is sick or upset, Hershey knows and comes to her side all the time. He is restless when he feels that something is wrong with my daughter.

The second thing that Hershey loves is my daughter's unicorn slippers. Her slippers make Hershey aggressive when our other dogs go near it. That is the only time that I see Hershey become aggressive.

We get upset when our dogs ruin our new couch, shoes, or other new stuff. Well, Hershey is not fond of destroying stuff but he loves to hide stuff like shoes, slippers, toys and even our keys on one occasion. I am not sure if that is normal and if he has done something he becomes unusually quiet. But to make up for all his mischievous deeds he is the sweetest dog you will ever meet.

He also knows two tricks which are handshaking. If you say "hand" he will give you his left paw.

11.JPG

If you say "other hand" he will give you his right paw. Other than that no other tricks but he is a very smart dog and I think could easily learn other things with proper training.

He is quite big for a Shih Tzu but he is purebred. Like a little lion or perhaps a little bear. Tell us what you think.

That's it for today and it's time for us to say goodbye for now. I hope you enjoyed meeting Hershey and hope to share more about his stories soon.

Thanks for joining us and keep on loving our furbabies. Cheers!
