Yeas. Nowadays it is only used as souvenirs or as you said ceremonial occasions. People mostly use teapots.

In the days of my youth people still used small teapots like this for making very concentrated "чифирь" (I don't even know how to translate it).

Of course, one was supposed to drink tea with blins
