Interesting stories. I am sure carnivores would eat young and healthy with pleasure should they have a chance. The problem is "young and healthy" is much harder to catch and kill.

I recently watched a video about agriculture in Israel. They had problems with rodents in the fields as rodents ate a large part of the crop. Instead of pesticides, they brought natural enemies of rodents - owls and the crop was saved. :)
