I've been dipping my toes into the vintage poured market and recently acquired this bar. From what I've been able to learn, Star Metals was based out of California in the early to mid 1970's. They've since folded, and their bars are among the more easy to find vintage poured bars. That's not to say they are common, however, as vintage poured bars as a group are not terribly common. But enough of me typing. Let's take a look at some shiny.
As you can see, it's got some gouges, I'm guessing from where it didn't fully settle into the mold? Or maybe they happened at removal from the mold? Either way, that's what I love about poured. Each one is unique. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
