I found this in the generic bin when I was traveling recently. It's from 1974, and I saw a quoted mintage online of 5000. Mine is number 0356. It's part of a series of bars highlighting birds that were endangered at the time.
I'm happy to report that the peregrine has since made an excellent recovery, and the population is stable. This has largely been attributed to the ban of DDT pesticide. Apparently this is what had been killing them.
