Everyone has different measuring tools for determining art. Mine relies on my ability to create the same thing. If I cannot, then it is art. That's why I paint houses and not canvases. The second measuring tool I use for art is "Does it speak?" Art is created with a voice, if a piece does not speak, then it is not art to me. That does not mean it isn't art to another, but art must have a voice that can be heard in either the quiet of a museum or the city sidewalk. I like your take on high art and that it is for everyone, but most do not choose to partake in that world of enjoyment.
