First off, my mom doesn't need any crypto investing notes on how to convert Hive to HBD. She doesn't even have the internet.
But MethodofMad (MOM), that's me, can use a few notes. So this post is for MethodofMad and maybe it will become a collection of notes for future reference on things I should have known but just recently learned.
What I learned this week is that I can exchange Hive to HBD on an internal market, and the internal market is not where I thought it was. I thought I had to make the conversion in my wallet with a 3 day delay
And I never liked that I gave up 5% to convert Hive to HBD
I didn't know there was an easier way until I asked a question on a post by @Taskmaster4450 and received a very helpful response from @Andablackwidow (Post referenced is Hive Must Implement Network Effect Like Crypto Exchanges)
Here's the answer and reply that pointed me to the internal market for changing Hive to HBD.
So I can make trades at https://wallet.hive.blog/market and then I read a post with another good link Converting Liquid Hive To Stable Asset HBD Within The Ecosystem which has a link to https://hivehub.dev Either way, the trade is quick and there is not a 5% loss when moving Hive to HBD. This is good also since I was losing time and money on the original way that I was converting.
And then, I found that I could have been doing this all along if I had paid more attention to my #PeakD Wallet.
Under Hive Tokens, there's a Market image. That takes me directly to the internal exchange.
If you read this far, you probably already knew what it has taken me a year to discover. That's ok my mom still doesn't know anything about crypto investing, but MethodofMad has a little more knowledge now.
My next post will cover when to send Hive to Tribaldex as Swap.Hive and the cost of 0.75% for deposit and withdraw of Hive at Tribaldex.
