Important considerations are: near 1-1 ratio of deuterium to palladium atoms, long experiment wait times, high current density through the palladium cathode surface, and a dynamic trigger such as the abrupt 0.75 to 1.5 amperes increase in the Fleischmann and Pons' 1985 hole in the floor experiment.
Some LENR researchers reported excess heat even when using normal water instead of heavy water (deuterium).
