In this video I go through important guidelines that should be followed when graphing or sketching curves. These guidelines may not apply for all curves but nonetheless it is important to go through these in a step by step manner until you get the hang of sketching curves.

Guidelines to Curve Sketching
Guideline A: Domain
Values of x where f(x) is defined.
Guideline B: Intercepts
Guideline C: Symmetry
Guideline D: Asymptotes
Guideline E: Intervals of Increase or Decrease
Guideline F: Local Maximum / Minimum
Guideline G: Concavity and Points of Inflection
Guideline H: Sketch the Curve
- Draw asymptote lines (dashed lines).
- Plot intercepts, inflections points, max, min.
- Make curve hit the above points through increasing / decreasing direction, and concaving up or down, etc.
- Plot out f'(x) at certain locations for increased accuracy.
