7 Years ago I got crashed into a car while riding my bicycle and had to go to the hospital. Luckily there were no broken bones or internal damage. I was pretty bruised up but luckily have healed up since. From that accident I learned a lot of safety tips which I believe everyone should be aware of including both bicyclists and drivers. Biking on the road can be very dangerous so make sure to always wear a helmet and follow my safety recommendations shown in the video!

Bike Safety
7 years ago I was biking to the gym and I got into an accident while a car was turning left… :(
I got taken to the hospital but luckily there were no broken bones or internal damage and I healed up since :)
How it happened
Factors underlying the Accident
- Curved intersection
- Driver assumed no one was biking because didn’t initially see me at first due to the curved intersection and didn’t bother slowing down before turning
- Night time and raining played a role
- Didn’t have a light on my bike.
Important Safety Tips when Biking
- Always wear a helmet
- When it is dark outside, a front and back light is extremely important!
- Slow down when approaching a curved intersection and pay extra attention to your surroundings.
- Cars already have a difficult time seeing bikes and curved intersection gives the illusion that there is no one on the other side.
Important Tips when Driving
- Always look for oncoming traffic especially during night time.
- Never assume that there is no one around
- Like with bikes, beware of curved intersections and be extra cautious.
- Slow down whenever making any turn.
