Since last year’s trip to Grand Canyon I have been thinking of hiking to the bottom and up during one day. Today was the day. 21km (South Kaibab Trail, 1660m elevation gain in a single climb and 9:15hrs).
The day was beautifully cold. 1° C at the rim when we started at 6:30am and low 20s° C at the Colorado river when we hit it by 10:30am. Perfect weather.
We were a party of four and our total age is 220.
