On the way from Albuquerque, NM to St Michaels, AZ the main theme of our hikes were volcanoes.
We started with two short hike in the Petroglyphs Ntl Monument. Ancient Pueblans would scrap images on black varnish covering bazalt rocks. It served as both information and art board.
Then we moved to El Malpais (Bad Land) where we did a series of short walks to several wonders of nature. The last stage was Lava Falls - a big and irregular lava field.
