Under and over ground in Slovakia. My Actifit Report Card: July 13 2025
Liptov and Orava are two historical regions in Slovakia. I hiked Liptov’s Nizké Tatry yesterday, enjoying beautiful views of the land from 2000m asl. Today I went underground and found hidden beauty there - Demianovska Liberty Cave (Demänovska Jaskyña Słobody) is a true gem.
After emerging from the cave, we drove to another beautiful Slovakian region - Orava. We visited its landmark, the Orava Castle (Oravski Hrad), majestically located on a high limestone cliff.
Finally, on our way back to Poland, we rode the Orava Forest Railway (Oravska Lesna Železnica) - a stream locomotive that once used to pull carts with wood and now is a tourist attraction.
One day and so many places visited - all while driving back home.
